Bonjour! A little French your way!
I do realize the picture is a very young likeness of me. My reason of choice is to honor my profession of nursing, which I respected and loved.
I passed away on Thursday morning, Nov. 29, 2018, at Hospice of the Sacred Heart in Dunmore. My husband of 41 years, Jim Cadden, predeceased me on Jan. 19, 2001. Born Aug. 5, 1937, in Scranton, daughter of the late Carlton Preston and Ann Sheridan LeBoutillier, I graduated from West Scranton High School, class of 1955. I then went on to the Scranton State Hospital School of Nursing and graduated with the class of 1958. Upon graduating from nursing school, I started my career at Scranton State Hospital as a pediatric staff nurse.
After marrying Jim Cadden, motherhood soon followed. Leaving staff nursing and entering a career in private duty nursing allowed me the flexibility to raise my family. Nursing well into my seventies, I enjoyed every patient and cared for each with love and kindness.
Through the years, I could be found ringing the register at the family business, Cadden Brothers Beer Distributors on Luzerne Street in West Side. I was also a founder and partner in the family flower business, J.M. Cadden LLC.
I am survived by my four children: Laureen (Laurie) Cadden and her sons, Thomas J. Foley IV and Sean Cadden Foley, and her fianc, Myer Moskovitz, Dunmore; Barbara Cadden and husband, Edward Ingoldsby, Scranton; James M. Cadden Jr., and wife, Donna and their children, Timothy, Matthew, MaryKate, Seamus and Jack, Dunmore; and Timothy Cadden and wife, Joann, Jupiter, Fla., and their children, twins McKenzie and McKayla, also of Jupiter; and Heather and Sara, of Scranton; as well as great-grandchildren, Evie and Quinn.
Additionally, I am survived by brother, Thomas LeBoutillier, Dunmore; sisters, Marie Armitage (Bill), San Antonio, Texas; and Barbara VanLouvender (Lou), Green Brook, N.J.; brother-in-law, Eugene T. Cadden and wife, Alice, Scranton; many loving nieces and nephews; as well as many grandnieces and grandnephews. I was predeceased by sister-in-law, Ann Cherinka LeBoutillier.
To all my friends, thank you for your help throughout my journey. A special thank you to Dr. Rajan Mulloth, Dr. Lisa Thomas and Dr. Chris Peters.
