Joan L. Osborne, 87, of the Green Ridge section of Scranton, passed away peacefully on Thursday morning at Regional Hospital of Scranton, surrounded by family and friends. She was the wife of William P. Osborne for 60 years, when Bill passed away Oct. 30, 2015.
Born in Scranton on June 29, 1932, the daughter of the late Richard and Mildred Bone Davis, Joan graduated from Scranton Technical High School. She worked for the Eureka Printing Co. in Green Ridge, before retiring to raise her ever-growing family on Grandview Street.
Joan enjoyed singing - "My Bill" was her favorite - and the many years at Chapman Lake with all of her "Lake" friends and families, shopping at Talbot's and family vacations to Ocean City, Md.
Heartfelt thanks are extended to Mountain View Care Center, Regional Hospital and Dr. John Diakiw, for the outstanding care, comfort, compassion and support provided to Joan and her family. Joan looked forward to the company of all of her nieces and nephews, particularly the many visits from her niece, Ella Colborn, and nephew, Robert Osborne, and Lisa. A special "thank you" to Margaret Conlon, who spent many years by Joan's side and put a smile on Joan's face every single day.
Joan is survived by her four children, William Jr. and wife, Lynn, Minooka section of Scranton; Carol and James Munley, North Scranton; James Osborne and Denise Shandra, East Mountain section of Scranton; and Michael, Green Ridge section of Scranton; a brother, Richard Davis, wife, Thelma, and children, Karen and Bria, of Lake Ariel; her six grandchildren, whom she just loved being with, Kelley and Billy Osborne III, James and Kaitlin Munley, Tyler and Morgan Osborne; and one great-granddaughter, Kali Santiago; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
The funeral will be conducted on Monday from the Frank M. Regan Funeral Home, 715 Linden St., Scranton, with Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in Immaculate Conception Church, 800 Taylor Ave., Scranton. Friends may call at the funeral home on Sunday from 5 to 7 p.m. Interment, Fairview Memorial Park.
