Lorraine Cusick Morgan

d. October 11, 2018

Lorraine Cusick Morgan, 91, Scranton, died Thursday morning at Elmcroft Senior Living Center in Peckville. Lorraine was the wife of Thomas J. Morgan, who predeceased her in 2008 after 57 years of marriage.

Born in Scranton, the daughter of the late Michael F. and Rita O'Neill Cusick, she was a graduate of St. John's High School in South Scranton.

Lorraine was a caring and loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend. Her favorite pastimes included traveling throughout the U.S. and abroad with her husband and their many friends, entertaining family and friends and shopping. In her later years, she was most happy when spotted at many local establishments enjoying the music performed by her son. Lorraine took great pleasure in choosing the perfect outfit for every occasion, and she was rarely seen without jewelry. With a kind heart, an ever-present smile and extreme pride in her Irish heritage, she will be greatly missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing her.

The family would especially like to thank the staff of Elmcroft Senior Living Center, forever grateful for the compassion, care and dignity provided to their mother during her two-year residence at the center. She loved each and every one of you and considered all to be part of her family.

Lorraine is survived by five children, Paul and wife, Cynthia Roberts Morgan, Jefferson Twp.; Ellen and husband, Edward Swartz, Dunmore; Thomas and wife, Netta House Veres, West Springfield, Va.; Mari and husband, Dr. Manton Frierson, Louisville, Ky.; and Ron and wife, Karen Hart Morgan, Scranton; 10 grandchildren, Ken and Drew Morgan, Edward and wife, Andrea Hadley Swartz; Michael and wife, Elizabeth Bubser Swartz; Matthew Swartz, Manton, Morgan and Fallon Frierson, Ronnie and Lauren Morgan; and a great-grandson, Lucas Swartz. She is also survived by her brothers-in-law, Robert Morgan and wife, Sheila Brady Morgan; and Joseph Dougherty; and many cousins, nieces and nephews.

She was also predeceased by her brother-in-law, John Morgan; sister-in-law, Anne Morgan Dougherty; and grandson, Eric Thomas Swartz.

The funeral will be Thursday with Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 10 a.m. in Immaculate Conception Church, 800 Taylor Ave., Scranton.
