Lucy Ann Gardner Woytack, 89, of North Scranton, passed away peacefully on Thursday afternoon at the Green Ridge Care Center, Scranton. She was preceded in death by her husband, Stephen A. Woytack, who died in 2015.

Born in Scranton, daughter of the late Joseph and Isabel Sokoloski Gardner, Lucy graduated from Scranton Technical High School. Prior to her retirement, she worked for the C.C. Young Insurance Agency. Lucy was a member of Mary, Mother of God Parish at Holy Rosary Church, where she was an altar server for many funerals. A loving wife, daughter and friend, she enjoyed reading and working in her garden.

Lucy is survived by a special friend, Janine DeMartino McGoff, and Janine’s immediate family, who loved and cared for Lucy over the past ten years.

A special thank you to the Green Ridge Care Center, Lucy’s nurses, aides and nurse practitioner, Patricia DeHaven, for the compassionate care they gave to Lucy every single day. Thank you to Lucy’s resident friends, for their kindness and love, especially her roommate, Jean Thomas, who Lucy loved and appreciated daily.

The funeral will be conducted on Wednesday, January 22, 2025, with Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 10:00 am at Mary, Mother of God Parish at Holy Rosary Church, 320 William Street, Scranton. Friends may call at the church from 9:00 am until the commencement of services. Interment, St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Throop.
