Maureen Kilcullen Holden, 69, of Southaven, Miss., and formerly of Scranton, died on Thursday, Jan. 5, 2023 in Southaven.
Maureen was born Nov. 29, 1953, in Scranton. She was an extremely selfless and caring person who was always willing to help anyone in need. Maureen was an encouraging, supportive, and dedicated mother and grandmother. Many will remember Maureen as positive, inspiring, strong-willed, direct, and she loved to make others laugh. She was so much fun to spend time with, whether it was watching a movie, discussing life, or singing in the car to her favorite music. One of her favorite activities was going to the movies or to the Orpheum to watch the latest famous Broadway production. She was a dreamer who had a unique imagination and loved to tell stories which kept her youthful at heart. Above all, Maureen loved big. Maureen believed in God's Word and her love for Christ was the bedrock of her life. Maureen was truly a special person who will be missed by all who were blessed to know and love her.
Maureen Kilcullen Holden is survived by her sons, Dustin Holden and Jason Holden (Shonda), both of Southaven, Miss.; her granddaughter, Olivia Ray Holden of Southaven, Miss.; her grandson, Jase Logan Holden of Southaven, Miss.; her sisters, Kathleen Greene (Bruce) of Othello, Wash. and Jane Francis "Jiffy" Spencer (Tommy) of Stanton, Tenn.; her nephews, Brad Spencer (Rachel) of Lakeland, Tenn., Bobby Egan (Cat) of Scranton, Pa., and Timothy Greene; her nieces, Stacey Madonia (Paul) of Bartlett, Tenn., Casey Garafola (Matt) of Scranton, and Katie Johnson; the father of her children, Leslie Stephen Holden; a host of great-nieces and great-nephews; and her fur babies, Oakley, Charlie, and Maow.
Maureen Kilcullen Holden was preceded in death by her father, William J. Kilcullen; her mother, Francis Loftus Kilcullen; her sister, Joanne Kilcullen; and her brother, William F. Kilcullen.

The funeral will be conducted on Thursday, Jan. 26, 2023, with Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 10 a.m. in Nativity of Our Lord Church, 633 Orchard St., Scranton. The family will receive relatives and friends at the church beginning at 9 a.m. and until commencement of services. Burial, with full military honors, will immediately follow at Cathedral Cemetery, Scranton.
