Ruth Farley Snyder, 93, a resident of Pocono Manor, and formerly of Scranton, died on Saturday evening at Holy Family Residence in Scranton. She was the widow of Joseph Donald Snyder, who died June 24, 2008, after 63 years of marriage.
Born in Scranton, the daughter of John and Mary O'Boyle Farley, she was a graduate of Scranton Central High School. For many years, she worked at the University of Scranton in payroll management, while raising her family in the Nativity section of town.
After retiring, Ruth and Don became inveterate snowbirds who, for over three decades, traded the cold and snowy winters of the Pocono Northeast for the warm and sunny climate of their second home in Bradenton, Fla.
The family would like to sincerely thank the Little Sisters of the Poor and the entire staff at Holy Family for making Ruth's time there most welcoming, comfortable and blessed.
